David Sandell is a native of Hull and a self-taught artist. David specializes in marine subjects, predominantly fishing trawlers from Hull and Humberside’s fishing industry years - from sidewinder trawlers to more recent factory trawlers.
He also depicts whalers sailing out of Hull when Kingston Upon Hull was considered a major whaling port.
David’s original acrylic on canvas paintings are photo-realist in style, capturing both vessels and the sea with a great sense of clarity and accuracy.
