Built at Dundee on the Tay 1899, Discovery was purpose built for Captain Scott’s expedition to the Antarctic. Launched in March 1901 she was barque rigged with an auxiliary steam engine and a two foot thick wooden hull. The scene is the regatta at Cowes on 5th August 1901, a day before leaving England for an epic voyage to the Antarctic.
This fine art limited edition print is an edition size of 100 and signed by David Bell. The picture is supplied cellophane wrapped, presented in a generously sized double-mount.
