This picture is of Beverley Racecourse. Located ten miles north of Hull and the Humber Bridge, Beverley racecourse is on the western outskirts of the town on the common pasture Beverley Westwood.
Beverley is a flat track one mile three furlongs, oval in shape, with a chute providing an extension to the home straight for five furlong and two mile races. The course is right-handed (runs clockwise).The back straight is downhill and the bend into the home straight is tight, with the final three furlongs a steep uphill climb.
