The most far-reaching event in 1968 was the tragic loss of fifty-eight crewmen and three trawlers during the opening weeks of the year. The St. Romanus H223 disappeared on passage to the Norwegian Coast on or about 11 January during bad weather. Then between 26-27 January the Kingston Peridot H591 was lost off North Iceland followed by Ross Cleveland H61 lost on 4 February whilst sheltering in Isafjordur. Only one crewman survived. This picture depicts happier times with the three trawlers arriving home to St. Andrews Dock.
The print is signed by Adrian Thompson. The picture is supplied cellophane wrapped, presented in a generously sized mount.
Image size: 64 x 32cm. Mount size: 79 x 51cm.
